We provide a full range of professional fiduciary services, regularly consulting with staff members and other fiduciaries and professionals.
Under court appointment, grantor's designation or as named successor trustee, we act as trustee for trusts including living (inter vivos) trusts, testamentary trusts, charitable trusts, and special needs trusts. We administer trust assets in strict compliance with the terms of the trust document and according to the provisions of California Probate Code. We manage and protect all assets for the benefit of the trust beneficiaries. We consult and coordinate with other professionals such as lawyers, CPAs, tax preparers, financial and investments advisors, realators, etc, while completing all fiduciary accountings, tax filings, recordkeeping, and distributions in a timely manner.
We act on behalf of another person as their proxy to manage their legal and financial affairs under power of attorney as their attorney-in-fact. We provide oversight, advocacy, and assistance while managing bills, budgets, payments, mail receiving and processing, bank accounts, investments, and recordkeeping files. We regularly consult with financial and investment advisors on putting assets to work for the best return consistent with safety of principal. Protection of assets is important and we evaluate and engage all types of insurance including life, home, auto, and medical. Identifying and thwarting threats of physical and financial senior abuse are major ongoing objectives in safeguarding all individual clients.
Probate Administration and Estate Settlement
When nominated in a person's will or appointed by the court, we act as Executor or Administrator of a decedent's estate. Working with the estate's lawyer we marshall, inventory, and appraise assets, prepare personal and estate tax fiings, handle creditor claims, finalize accountings and reports, and distribute assets to beneficiaries as the final settlement of the estate.
Personal and Medical Supervision
We assist clients in remaining in thier homes as long as possible, if that is their desire, or relocate to a suitable other residence. We evaluate conditions, hazards and dangers in the living environment, direct the remodeling of their home for safety, manage the move to another living facility, if appropriate, locate suitable and acceptable caregivers, and arrange for other services, as needed. Under client's authority of power of attorney for health care and/or Advanced Directive for Health Care we consult with medical professionals and act on behalf of clients for their best interests when they are no longer able to do so themselves.
When a person no longer retains the capacity to manage their own health and welfare, and with court appointment, we act as their Conservator of the Person and or Estate.
